1945
Christenson Founded
Christenson Electric is founded by Eric Christenson Sr.
1959
New Home Office
The 11 NE Sumner facility becomes headquarters. The first new van is added to the fleet.
1972
High Voltage Division Established
Christenson Electric forms the High Voltage Division.
1975
Downtown Portland Market Increases
First high rise projects including the Bank of California Building, followed by Lloyd 500 and Columbia Square.
1979
Establishing a Presence
Christenson moves to the Columbia Square Building to better serve the downtown market.
1983
Banfield Transitway Project
Christenson completes Portland’s first light rail project from downtown to Gresham.
1988
Fujitsu Semi-Conductor Project
A major manufacturing facility. Christenson peaked at ~360 electricians on this job alone.
1994
Vansycle Wind Farm
Christenson completes the Vansycle Wind Farm — expanding renewables presence across the U.S.
1995
Building Customer Relationships
Christenson grows to 1,200 employees and strengthens key customer relationships.
2008
New Ownership
Mark Walter and Sonja Rheaume buy Christenson Electric.
2016
United as 1 Team
Christenson moves to the Sacramento Street headquarters. The shop warehouse is completed — operations unified on one site.
2020
SPG Division Formed
Christenson forms the SPG division.
2021
OHM Formed
OHM Systems is formed to deliver technology services.
2024
IEM + Prefab Developed
IEM and the prefab shop are developed to expand capabilities and delivery.
